IB Career Related Programme

Overview

The CP is a framework of international education that incorporates the values of the IB into a unique programme addressing the needs of students engaged in career-related education.

The CP develops students to be:

Requirements

Career-Related Study (CRS) - sequential courses taken junior and senior year in a chosen career-related field of study with the opportunity to earn industry recognized certification

IB Courses - two IB courses from the IB's Diploma Programme 

The CP CORE:

Personal & Professional Skills Course - spanning two years, this course develops workplace readiness skills; students complete a portion of the work online, working collaboratively with others across Fairfax County in the same program

Language Development - a language portfolio developed over two years demonstrating a global understanding in the chosen career-related field of study

Reflective Project - a student centered project examining all sides of an ethical dilemma associated with the chosen career-related field study

Service Learning - focusing on collaborative community service efforts
