Mount Vernon High School has been selected by the Military Student Support Process Action team (MSSPAT) for the 2022 - 2023 Purple Star Designation Award.

This designation has once again been awarded to MVHS and could not have been earned without the support of our community and staff along with members of the MVHS Purple Team led by Sarah Freeland. The MVHS Purple team supports all military-connected students by providing resources as they transfer (PCS) to the MVHS community. Click here for more information about the MVHS Purple Team.

As a recipient, MVHS will receive a certificate of recognition along with an award coin. The Purple Star logo (image below) is approved for use by each designated school in order to draw more attention to the school and to this distinction. 

One member of the MSSPAT review team mentioned that the efforts shown by the Purple Team's transition program was "solid". The reviewer also stated "the success of transitional support to our (MVHS) military connected students would be nowhere without the efforts of students like these."
