West Point STEM Opportunity comes to MVHS!

On Friday, April 22, students from Mount Vernon High School and Whitman Middle School had the opportunity to participate in a free Leadership Ethics and Diversity in STEM (LEADS) conference sponsored by West Point and the Chick-fil-a Foundation.  

During this full day conference our students participated in workshops led by West Point and Howard University ROTC Cadets. In addition to the fun and engaging workshops our students and staff received words of welcome, inspiration and had the opportunity to interact with several distinguished guests and presenters. 

Below is a list of a few guests who supported the event:

  • 1LT Simone Askew is a Rhode Scholar and First African American Woman First Captain for the US Corps of Cadets
