Back to School Night - Virtual Information

"Majors achieve and thrive together with purpose and pride."

Welcome to Back to School Night Resource page for the 2022 - 2023 school year!

This page has been designed to provide you with the opportunity to hear and see from our teachers, our administrative team, our school board members and much more!

For the best experience, we recommend you have a copy of your child’s schedule or access to your SIS ParentVue account. With this information, you will be able to easily navigate and find your desired resource.

Our Back to School Night Resource page has been designed an asynchronous activity. This design provides you with the flexibility to work at your own pace, in your own space and within your schedule.

This page will remain active for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year should you have a need to return later.

We hope the resources we have compiled are informative and provide perspective for our instructional goals for the current school year.

We are committed to providing the best instructional support during the 2022 – 2023 school year. We are MVHS and we are Major Strong!

Student Rights and Responsibilities

FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities

Affirm, Assess, Advance!

Our goal is to provide the best education for your student! However, we cannot complete this task alone and everyone (students, teachers and parents) play a role in this process. To support this process, our Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) booklet provides the expectations for student behavior along with the faculty responses designed to create a positive, equitable school environment.

Take a moment to review the entire booklet. As an important reminder, the Parent and/or Guardian Signature Sheet for the SR&R must be completed and returned to Mount Vernon High School by September 30th, 2022.

Help us to create a successful environment for your student!

"Go Paperless" Report Card Option

Did you know that you have the option to "go paperless" and receive only online report cards?

Your selection of the paperless option in your SIS ParentVue account will only impact how you receive report cards from MVHS. No other FCPS mailings and/or required documentation will be affected by this selection.

To take advantage of the paperless options, parents and/or guardians will need to log into SIS ParentVUE, go to “My Account” and select "Go Paperless"  All parents who live with the student and share the same address must have a SIS ParentVUE account and must select the paperless option to prevent mailing of the printed report cards. The “Go Paperless” option will apply to all their associated students, no matter what school level.
